The 5k Run, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and the Stroller Roll all feature a scenic loop around Lake Blackshear, beginning at at the entrance of the Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club.

Please arrive 45 minutes to one hour prior to your start time as parking navigating to the start can sometimes take more time than you think.

will be available from 6:30 - 7:45 AM. Please arrive early as many of our volunteers are also interested in running at 8:00!

PACKET PICKUP:
Friday, June 8th, 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM
You can pick up your race number, t-shirt and goodie bag at the Lake Blackshear Resort on Friday, June 8 from 4 - 7 PM, or on race day from 6:30 - 7:45 AM. We strongly recommend you pick up your packet before race day.

Loop the Lake is an annual event that benefitsGraceWay Recovery Residence in Albany and Ruth’s Cottage/The Patticake House in Tifton . Every dollar from race registrations and sponsorships goes directly to the charities. The event was originated by Dr. Edward Hellman, spine surgeon with The Spine & Scoliosis Center at Georgia Sports in Tifton. “I am an avid runner, so I thought it would be fun to organize a that could also raise awareness and funds for these important women’s programs. We have also added a separate race for runners and walkers with strollers so it is a real family affair!"

The 1-mile course loops around the campground and the Resort and through the area in front of the Marina for the finish.
The 5K (3.1 miles) runs through the Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park and along the lake. It is one of the most scenic courses in South Georgia, offering breathtaking views of the lake, a few sections of off-road running and gentle rolling hills. CLICK FOR MAPS.

Sprinklers, Aid Stations and Potties
There will be sprinklers out on the course to help you keep your cool and two aid stations spaced evenly along the course. Aid stations will be stocked with water and a few cheering fans. There are potties at the start and finish inside the Retreat.
